which require precautionary measures when handling. The safety instructions must be passed on to all persons who handle the magnets

Dangers from magnets

►Strong magnets can cause crushing injuries.
► Magnets can splinter and form sparks when they collide.
► There is a risk of fire when magnets are mechanically processed.
► Magnets can pose a hazard to electronic devices such as pacemakers and magnetic
data carriers.
► Magnets can pose a health hazard
if they come into contact with food or drinking water.
►Magnets can cause serious damage to health or even death if swallowed.
Due to these dangers, special measures must be taken when handling magnets:
► Handle magnets with care. Wear gloves and safety goggles, and only bring strong
magnets together or close to other magnetic parts slowly to avoid crushing and
splintering.
►Persons with pacemakers must always keep a sufficient distance from magnets
.
► Magnets do not belong in the hands of children.
► Keep magnets away from magnetic data carriers and electronic devices.
► Do not bring magnets into contact with food.
► Avoid mechanical processing of magnets, e.g. sawing, drilling. Leave this
to professionals.
► Avoid loose magnetic parts lying around and do not look in the direction of the
magnetic field, as parts in the direction of the field can be accelerated by the magnet.
► When using magnetising devices, please observe the instructions for the devices.
► Do not place magnets in the immediate vicinity of naked flames.
► When transporting magnets, especially by air, special guidelines
must be observed. These also apply to installed magnets. Please inform yourself if necessary.
