Which magnets are suitable for magnetic glass boards?

Magnetic glass boards (but also magnetic slate boards, for example) are glass or slate boards with a metal plate behind them. This acts as a counterpart to the magnet. As the glass plates are usually quite thick (around 5 mm), the magnet has to bridge a greater distance with its force.

We are often asked which magnets are suitable for this application. It should be noted that you should not look for specific adhesive forces across the board. For example, cone magnets made of steel are not suitable for magnetic glass boards, as the high adhesive force is only guaranteed when they are placed directly on the counterpart.

We recommend the following magnets for magnetic glass boards:

Which magnets are suitable for attaching to magnetic paint?

Unfortunately, magnets only achieve a fraction of their adhesive force on magnetic paint, as the counterpart only has a limited ferromagnetic effect. For this reason, conventional ferrite magnets are not suitable for use on magnetic paint.
