Neodymium magnet: The strongest permanent magnet in the world

A neodymium magnet, also known as an NdFeB magnet, is a permanent magnet consisting of an alloy of neodymium, iron and boron. These magnets are among the strongest magnets in the world and are indispensable in numerous technological applications. Manufacture of neodymium magnets

Neodymium magnets are manufactured using a complex process:

  1. Alloy: Neodymium, iron and boron are fused together to form an alloy.
  2. Powdering: The alloy is ground into a fine powder to facilitate processing.
  3. Pressing in a magnetic field: The powder is compacted under a strong magnetic field to align the magnetic moments.
  4. Sintering: The compacted material is heated at high temperatures to produce a solid, dense magnetic material.
  5. Magnetising: Finally, the material is magnetised in a strong magnetic field.

Thanks to their strength and versatility, neodymium magnets are indispensable in numerous industries and everyday applications:

  • Generators: In wind turbines, they increase the efficiency and service life of generators.
