Our smallest ferrite block magnet measuring 9 x 7mm and a height of 3 mm is relatively weak with an adhesive force of 170 g so its possible applications are somewhat limited. Nevertheless, there are some useful and creative applications:
Lightweight paper holder: Use it to attach one or two lightweight notes, business cards or thin slips of paper to a metal surface, for example on the fridge or a magnetic pinboard.
Miniature decoration projects: It is well suited for smaller decorative projects, e.g. as a magnetic stand for small photos or lightweight craft materials.
Collect and sort paper clips or nails: You can use it to sort paper clips, pins or very small nails or to keep them together.
Easy cable management: If you want to keep thin cables such as headphones or charging cables in place on your desk, the magnetic force may be enough to keep the cables in position.
Miniature terrain modelling or dioramas: In modelling projects, the magnet can be used well to attach small, interchangeable parts to metal surfaces, for example small decorative elements in dioramas or miniature setups.
Lightweight fasteners for packaging: For homemade packaging, cards or cases, you can use it as a closure as long as the parts are not too heavy.
Experiment with magnetic fields: Use the magnet for small physics experiments or as an illustrative material to learn more about magnetism and the limitations of adhesive force.
Many applications require a stronger magnetic force, but with these ideas, the magnet can still be put to good use! You can find more available sizes of our ferrite block magnets here. Also take a look at the ferrite disc magnets and ferrite ring magnets.
